Fine Home Dining: bison meatballs and spring herb chicken

Spring herbs are growing  like crazy while we enjoy the cool and wet weather.  We love to add our basil, sage, parsley and celery leaf to make dishes bright and fragrant.

Fine Home Dining this week:  try our savory bison meatballs with a beautiful basil sauce, our favorite egg noodles and a delicate salad with our housemade sherry vinaigrette.  Wednesday order simple garlic white wine braised chicken quarters with local grown root veggies.

 

Monday April 21:  Bison & bacon meatballs, egg noodles with olive oil and parsley, basil cream sauce.   Arugula spinach salad with sherry vinaigrette.   $20.

 

Wednesday April 23:  Garlic white wine braised bone-in Chicken over Celery Root puree with celery leaf and lemon gremolata.  Roasted carrots &  beets.  $18.

Fine Home Dining: Brisket Passover Dinner. Alaskan Halibut in season

A week of holidays is ahead at Fine Home Dining! We are preparing a traditional Passover Brisket sourced through Southern Traditions, who are bringing their grassfed beef to a store front soon.  It’s braised overnight with red wine for a rich and savory dish, served with rustic smashed potatoes and a refreshing carrot salad.

On Wednesday, enjoy Halibut season with an asian spin.   Sesame seeds make a crunchy crust, served with a sweet & spicy gluten free noodle dish, and luxurious hearts of palm and protein packed edamame with a zippy ginger dressing.

 

Monday 4/14:  Brisket with red wine.   Sour cream chive smashed potatoes.  Steamed Asparagus. Carrot and apple salad with dijon vinaigrette.  $18 / portion

Wednesday 4/16:  Sesame crusted Alaskan Halibut (not previously frozen) over rice noodles with pickled radish and chili lime peanuts.  Butter lettuce with hearts of palm and edamame, ginger lime dressing. $22 / portion

Fine Home Dining: Texas strawberries in season!

It’s that time of year when strawberries grow in Texas!  All summer we import them from California, but right now is the sweet spot when they are juicy, flavorful, organic and LOCAL!  We feature them in both dinner menus this week, so you will find them in a light lemon chicken salad on Monday, and midweek with a grilled pork tender in a fun strawberry salsa.  Fine Home Dining!

 

 

Monday 4/7:

Shredded baked Lemon Rosemary Chicken breast, with sliced strawberries, baby spinach and butter lettuce, candied Texas pecans,golden raisins, candied grapefruit and sherry vinaigrette.  $17 portion

 

Wednesday 4/9:

Grilled pork tenderloin with strawberry avocado salsa.  Quinoa pilaf with carrot and cumin seed.  Steamed broccoli with pumpkin seed chimichurri.  $20 portion

Fine Home Dining: Grilled Steak & Spinach Salad and More Asparagus for dinner this week

Spring is all around and the wildflowers are coming on strong!  Look for our Spring time party menus to be added to our website this week, too! This week’s Fine Home Dining features amazing spinach from Oak Hill Farms for a steak & salad dinner on Monday.  Wednesday we are ready to harvest our own lettuce for you! Have our colorful speckled romaine (pictured here!) plus shaved celery root & bright golden beets from Johnson’s Backyard with a french style vinaigrette.  We are pairing it with Hairston Creek Farm asparagus in an organic egg frittata…  Can’t get more springy than that!

 

 

Monday 3/31Herb & Garlic Sirloin, grilled & sliced, with Spinach Salad, Carrot Ginger dressing, sunflower seeds, diced pineapple and radish.  $20/ portion

Fine Home Dining: fish taco dinner and local asparagus is here!

Bountiful crops of Spring hit the markets this week.  We found adorable little cabbages at Springdale Farm and decided it was time for fish tacos!  Our friend Gary at Hairston Creek Farm in Burnet gave us a heads up that his precious asparagus crop is now ready, so we ordered a LOT!   The beets are sweet… and Arugula from Boggy Creek Farm is peppery and plentiful. Let us serve up your dinners this week.. everyone in the family will enjoy Fine Home Dining!

Fine Home Dining: st patty’s shepherd’s pie and Spring veggies have sprung

We think it’s official — Spring has sprung in Austin.  The veggies say so…. growing at Boggy Creek Farm and Springdale Farm we found baby arugula, tender lettuces, asparagus(!), beautiful carrots and gorgeous spring onions.  Our own garden is coming along nicely too with herbs, celery and future tomatoes!

At Fine Home Dining, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Monday with classic shepherds pie and a colorful salad.  Wednesday features spring’s bounty with a simple fish and spring vegetable ragout.

Monday March 17:  Organic Beef Shepherd’s Pie with spring onion, celery, carrot and a mashed potato topping.  Arugula salad with roasted butternut squash, radish, cider vinaigrette.  $18/portion.

Wednesday March 19:  Grilled Salmon (or sub white fish) over carrot~white bean puree with spring vegetable ragout:  asparagus, carrots, spring onion, herbs and creme fraiche.  $20/ p0rtion

Fine Home Dining this week: Louisiana inspired menus. Chicken with sherry and our famous crab cakes

Laissez bon temps roulez…. it’s Mardi Gras!!

Fine Home Dining is cooking cajun inspired menus featuring beautiful local fare…. oyster mushrooms from Solstice Farm in Driftwood, gorgeous broccoli and spinach from Boggy Creek Farm, and sweet organic carrots.  We saute air chilled natural chicken breasts and spike with a sherry pan sauce and this week’s your chance to try an entree size portion of our ever popular crab cakes with rosemary panko crust!

Monday 3/3:   Chicken Breast with Sherry Mushroom sauce.  Cajun Broccoli Rice.  Lemon glazed carrots.  $16 portion.

Wednesday 3/5Crab Cakes (gluten free available) with smoked paprika aioli.  Spinach with hard boiled egg, bacon, avocado dressing.  $20 portion.

Fine Home Dining this week: Texas ruby reds, brussels, housemade creme fraiche

Vegetable or weapon?  These giant brussels stalks are coming in fresh from Oak Hill Farm and are so sweet and tender.

Broccoli from our oldest urban farm, citrus from the valley and our house made creme fraiche round out a steak dinner and fresh seafood this week.

We rub the flank with a dried smoked pepper rub from Springdale Farm for a good kick… grilled to medium rare and sliced for you.  The quinoa salad packs protein in the citrus based salad with creamy avocado and roasted pumpkin seeds add  crunch.

Our prosciutto wrapped salmon is a Fine Home Dining favorite, pan seared with a smoky wrap to keep it super succulent…roasted potatoes with a french twist and tender steamed broccoli.

 

Monday 2/24:

Grilled Flank Steak + smoked dried pepper rub + grilled sweet onions.  Grilled Oak Hill Farm brussels sprouts. Ruby red grapefruit and quinoa salad + pumpkin seeds + avocado.   $20.

Wednesday 2/26:

Prosciutto wrapped Salmon + house made dill creme fraiche.  Dijon roasted fingerling potatoes.  Boggy Creek Farm Broccoli with lemon.  $17.
